Last week in Talladega, we had our annual Fall Family Fun.  One of our favorite parts of this job is providing opportunities for families to have fun at the track together.  At this event, we offer games for the kids, caramel apples, popcorn, cotton candy, hay rides, jump houses and more!

We did one big family activity called “Decorate Dad Like A Pumpkin”.  Participants could choose anything from giant googly eyes to tablecloths, spider webs to orange and green streamers, wigs to glasses to mustaches and much more.  Families really had to be creative for Dad to be any kind of pumpkin (one of the winners was a nerd pumpkin!).  And of course the top three were awarded medals – it’s our firm belief that you can’t have a party without trophies 🙂

We also had costume contests – with some amazing costumes including trolls, ninja turtles, and race car drivers – for all ages!  We ended our evening with trick-or-treating through the Driver/Owner lot.  It’s so much fun for our staff – we’d love to have you put this on your calendar for next year!

Of course, we could not do this event without much help from friends!  We are so grateful to so many people who helped make this event possible:

We had a sweet and hardworking group from Church of the Highlands in Birmingham join us.  They served food, operated games, and even brought a clown!

We also are so grateful for our friend Jeff Mechanik, who travels to bring us jump houses!  He’s so generous and takes great care of us each weekend that we need a little extra fun!
