Homestead MRO Community Center Bible Time – Ruth and Naomi

https://youtu.be/Gblw-J4mkEs

Welcome to the Homestead MRO Community Center Bible Time

So happy to connect with you and share another exciting Let’s Go God’s Story from the Old Testament book of Ruth.

This week we will visit a local dairy farmer who grows wheat grass to feed his cattle. This piece of property is much like the farmland that Ruth would glean from in the Old Testament book written about her journey with her mother-in-law Naomi. Because of the kindness of Boaz, Naomi’s relative, God would write a beautiful God’s Story that we can learn so much from!

Two BBBBIIIIIGGGG new words that teach us about how God provided for Ruth and Naomi out of His great love for God’s family.

Gleaning: The custom of following a harvest so that what remains might be used primarily for the poor who have little or no means of supporting themselves.

The law according to the God of Israel that commanded this and a tradition that is still practiced in some cultures around the world. Farmers are given specific rules about leaving behind part of their harvest to help the poor. (Leviticus 19:9)

Redeemer: Someone who pays a price to save someone (or something) from something bad

The Lord Jesus is our “Redeemer”. He paid the produce with His life to save us from a life apart from God. (Job 19:25)

So grab your Bible, turn to the book of Ruth and join me and as we learn how much God loved Ruth and Naomi and provided for His children.

We can give thanks to God who always watches over us as redeemer and provider.

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3

A Prayer for the Work Day Ahead:

Father, thank you for all the ways you’ve blessed me, specifically with this job that pays my bills and puts food on my table. Thank you that ALL work has significance because work is good. Help me bring you glory today, through my actions, my words, through the good work I do to bring order to my little corner of the world. Help me view my work as a blessing and not a curse. Give me grace and strength for the hardest aspects of my job. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Note: If you are a career mama, pray this over the home you are building and the work you are doing in shaping the minds and hearts of your children.

Morning Twenty-Four: Pray For and Surrender Your Cares and Concerns

28 Days of Morning Prayer Focus

“Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Start your day by praising and worshipping Him.

Cast My Cares by Finding Favour https://youtu.be/fS5hb6otvIU

Pray Fervently- surrender every prayer to laying down all your care and anxiety.

Heavenly Father, I’d like to apologize to You right now. Sometimes I forget to cast all my cares upon You, and spend more time and effort in worrying than focusing on the peace that comes from resting in Christ. Help me to open my understanding through Your Word and realize that worry not only robs me of our joy and peace in the Lord, but is rooted in the sin of unbelief. Whenever I am lost, please provide me with a better understanding that You alone are the One that will replace wasted worries with divine wisdom. Amen.

“Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Morning Twenty-Three: A Prayer For Contentment

6 Ways to Balance Your Work, Life, and Online School Commitments

Contentment is a simple grace. The morning is one of the best times to have an encounter with God. Pray the moment you wake up if you aren’t already doing so. When you wake up with God, His presence is carried with you wherever you go. May you be blessed on your journey today.

It is our Father’s world, so we should rest in His care. While many of us desire to be content, it is not easily attained or kept. For, no sooner than we begin to enjoy the grace of contentment, it is gone and dissatisfaction returns.

The Bible calls us to allow our convictions, not our circumstances, to govern our sense of contentment. True, biblical contentment is a conviction that Christ’s power, purpose and provision is sufficient for every circumstance. We are to learn how to walk through all kinds of adversity believing in and experiencing Christ’s sufficiency. We have to choose to rest on God’s good promises despite what may be going on in our lives.

Start your day off with a prayer for contentment:

Dear God, I pray that I will stay focused on You today. I pray that You will constantly remind me to be content in all of my circumstances. I pray that You will fill me up that I may be joyful all day, even if stress creeps in. I know that through my contentment, You will be glorified. I want to honor You, Father, in all that I do. Amen.

Morning Twenty-Two: A Prayer For Opportunity

28 Days of Morning Prayer Focus

Our Heavenly Father has filled our lives with incredible opportunities. It’s important that we are always ready so that we can hear God’s voice when He is calling us. We don’t want to miss these opportunities when they come to us. Start your day off with this morning prayer for opportunity.

Dear Lord, I pray today that I will yield my spirit completely to You, that You may use me as You please. I pray that You will provide me opportunities to show people how much You mean to me. Give me discretion to know what to say and how to say it. Make me bold enough that I may proclaim salvation cheerfully and joyfully. I pray that the seeds You allow me to plant will grow and mature. I am forever grateful for the cross; may I proclaim it in a contagious way today. Amen.

Morning Twenty-One: Pray For God’s Guidance In All Things Today

28 Days of Morning Prayer Focus

Dear Lord, help me remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority in my morning. Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak words of affirmation, assurance, and wisdom over my heart as I prepare to go into my day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“If any of your lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

Morning Twenty: Rely On God Today

28 Days of Morning Prayer Focus

Rely on God Today

Lord, we ask today for more of Your Holy Spirit in our lives. Lord, it can be easy for us to become consumed with the fears that surround us in life, but we know that just as Your eye is indeed on the sparrow, so also do You care for and see us.

Teach us today to become more reliant on You. Bring us into a greater discernment of how You operate, so that we may come into a deeper understanding that all we see with natural eyes is not all that is. Today we ask for eyes to see Your hand in all matters, and hearts open to Your work. Amen. – Callie Logan

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
